Penarth RFC have become the second Vale club to withdraw from this season's Mallett Cup.
The Bears, currently top of Division One East Central, were due to play Rumney at the Athletic Field on Friday night.
But a lack of available players led to Penarth pulling out of one of the world's oldest cup rugby competitions - with their opponents given a walkover into the next round.
Division Two club Cowbridge were the only Vale team to progress following their 27-17 win over Llanharan earlier this month.
Club action resumes next Saturday with the second round of the WRU cup competitions - Penarth are at home to Lampeter Town in the Division One Cup (2pm ko) while Cowbridge entertain Usk in the Division Two Cup (both 2pm kick offs)
In the Admiral League, Llantwit Major entertain Penygraig and Dinas Powys are at home to Llandaff in Division Three, while Old Penarthians travel to Cefn Coed in Division Five and Sully Sports visit Llanrumney in Division Six (all 2.30pm kick offs)
